Charles Dance In Talks to Join The Batman: Part II
DC Studios’ upcoming Batman sequel may be adding another star to its already stacked cast.
British actor Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, Frankenstein) has reportedly entered talks for a key role in The Batman: Part II, according to Deadline.
While unconfirmed, it is believed Dance will play Christopher Dent, father of district attorney Harvey Dent, also known as supervillain ‘Two-Face’, who will be played by Sebastian Stan (Thunderbolts*). Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) is also on board to play Dent’s wife, Gilda.
The role has made headlines several times over the past few months, with high-profile actors rumoured to have passed on it, including Daniel Craig, Brad Pitt, Robert DeNiro, Stellan Skarsgård, and Viggo Mortensen.
If true, Dance would join Robert Pattinson, who is reprising his role as the Caped Crusader in the upcoming sequel written and directed by Matt Reeves (The Batman, War for the Planet of the Apes). Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and (possibly) Barry Keoghan are also returning to their roles from The Batman.
Dance is best known for playing patriarch Tywin Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones series. He most recently starred as Dr. Frankenstein’s father in Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Frankenstein and appeared in the Peacock series Day of the Jackal.
Production for The Batman: Part II is to begin at the end of May, with the film set to land in cinemas on October 1, 2027.
