This film will be the sequel to 2025โ€™s How to Train your Dragon, which was directed by Dean DeBois and starred Black Phone star Mason Thames as the outcast-turned-dragon-trainer Hiccup. The plot saw Hiccup win his villageโ€™s approval by training an infamous Night Fury and changing their perception of dragons.

It was a remake of 2010โ€™s original animation, which features the voice cast of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kristen Wiig and T.J. Miller. The sequel to the original animation was released four years later and focused on Hiccup battling against Drago Bludvist in his quest to conquer the world using a dragon army.

The live-action remake of the sequel is set for a 2027 release.ย
