Black Adam makes a heroic debut as ‘top gun’ on the UK’s Official Film Chart.
The DCEU film, starring Dwayne Johnson as the titular anti-hero, rages strong in its first week on sale – pushing last week’s Number 1 Elvis (which has just scooped eight Oscar nods, including Best Film and Best Actor for Austin Butler) into third place.

Slasher season is back on too, as Halloween Ends resurrects itself back into the Top 10, rising a massive 19 spaces (2) following its physical release on DVD, Blu-ray & 4K UHD completing David Gordon Green’s reboot trilogy.
After securing Oscar nods for stars Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon as well as writer-director Martin McDonagh, The Banshees Of Inisherin rises up one this week (4) while Best Picture nominee Top Gun: Maverick dives down (5).
Following strong digital sales, high-stakes thriller Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as assassins ricochets into the Top 10 (6), up thirteen from the previous week, while Downton Abbey: A New Era is also up four (10).
Finally, after its digital release, pitch black comedy-horror The Menu makes a lavish debut at Number 9. With sterling performances from Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult, who star as a couple attending a star chef’s (Ralph Fiennes) invite-only restaurant, where things take a turn for the murderous.
