Pardon the punt Billy Crystal has been around the block quite a few times. He’s been keeping himself busy with some low key indie films until now. Earlier today we learned his next film Here Today is set to close 74th edition of Edinburgh International Film Festival, we now get a chance to watch the film’s UK Trailer.
The veteran comedic actor stars but also writes, directs and produces the film, his first time behind the camera for at least 20 years. A film that says best friendships are unexpected and that friendship will be with Tiffany Haddish.
In this film Crystal plays a veteran comedic writer Charlie Burnz who forms an unlikely friendship with lounge singer Emma (Haddish), The first meet none of them asked for but despite the age gap the pair bond and an unexpected friendship forms that will change both their lives.
This is one of those big studio comedies that are like marmite, many will like , others won’t. Will it be funny? That might all depend if you enjoy the casts level of humour, however on first impressions this is more charm than belly out laughs.
