Ben Stiller Discussed the Possibility of a New ‘Meet the Parents’ Movie

Ben Stiller has been connected to a new Meet the Parents film, as original cast members Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner are also set to return.
While the project is still in the early development stages at Universal, Stiller shared a bit more info about the reunion in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“It is not a done deal,” Stiller said. “I think everybody wants to make it happen. Somebody noted a year or two ago that I was the same age that De Niro was when we made the first one. It was an interesting time to look at the mirror, sort of image, maybe Greg has a couple of kids. Maybe one of them’s getting married.”
“Any chance to work with De Niro, I’ll take,” he added.
In 2020, the cast reunited to honor the 20th anniversary of the franchise’s debut, and De Niro was eager to make a fourth installment.
As of right now, there is not a confirmed director or release date. It is also unclear if Owen Wilson, Dustin Hoffman, Barbra Streisand, and other actors will return.
However, the franchise’s previous co-writer, John Hamburg, is attached to develop the script, according to Deadline. The Meet the Parents series began in 2000 with director Jay Roach and was followed by 2004’s Meet the Fockers and 2010’s Little Fockers.
