Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis First Trailer Is All ‘Shook Up’

Baz Luhrmann‘s knows how to deliver those epic films, from Moulin Rouge, Romeo& Juliet and The Great Gatsby. This Summer it will be the ‘return of the king’ as his epic biopic for Elvis Presley, aka Elvis will eb released. Tonight Warner Bros have released the official first UK Trailer for the film and we’re all ‘shook up’
The king himself will be played by Austin Butler, with Tom Hanks as Tom Parker and Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley. The film promises to follow the life and celebrate the music from the musical icon from his rise to fame along with the stardom. If you weren’t hypnotised by his voice, it was his moves after they mocked him.
Young Elvis loved Captain Marvel aka nowadays DC Shazam comic book and when you watch the near 4 minute trailer, those hypnotic moves were like superpowers. Also considered ‘sexually provocative’ for the 1950’s, pelvis movements that would revolutionised popular culture. Is it us, does Tom Hanks voice sound like he could be a Bond Villain?
From Oscar-nominated visionary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ drama “Elvis,” starring Austin Butler and Oscar winner Tom Hanks.
The film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis’s life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).
The cast for this one is massive, wouldn’t expect less for a Baz Luhrmann film! For those ‘suspicious minds’, Warner Bros will release Elvis in UK, Irish and U.S cinemas from 24th June, thank you very much, huh huh.
