Another UK Trailer For THE GUARD
Whilst alot of filmgoers look towards the bigmovies for a few laughs and this year those big hitters have been a big letdown, so still wanting a good laugh this year? Take a look at independent films and you’ll find the cracking little Irish comedy THE GUARD. Starring Brendon Gleeson, Don Cheadle, Mark Strong and Liam Cunningham this movie will give you charm, politically incorrect profane humour, quirky one liners, off beat and a great laugh well thats according to the festivals this movie has been playing at including last week opening the Edinburgh Film festival. Optimum Releasing have released a new UK trailer which has loads of new footage, cant wait to see this when its released in UK on July 8th with Sony Picture Classics releasing the movie in USA on July 29th.

Sergeant Gerry Boyle is a small-town Irish cop with a confrontational personality, a subversive sense of humour, a dying mother, a fondness for prostitutes, and absolutely no interest whatsoever in the international drug-smuggling ring that has brought FBI agent Wendell Everett to his door.Boyle drifts through life, not much concerned about anything, not even the mysterious murder of a man in one of the town’s holiday cottages. But when Everett shows Boyle the mugshots of four drug traffickers, he recognises one of them as the dead man.And so the two cases converge, with a bemused Everett finding himself adrift in the decidedly original and sometimes surreal world of Sergeant Gerry Boyle, the last of the independents!
