A tall dark and handsome man carries a woman in The Love Hypothesis

Fake dating, real chemistry is the word in the brand new Trailer for rom-com The Love Hypothesis.

How many of those real life romances we see happening around us are real? Don’t be surprised some are fake all done in the name of something. In this film that ‘fake relationship’ is all in the name of education or should it be risked for the real thing?

The Love Hypothesis stars Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman as our student and professor, with Claire Scanlon in the directors chair. Based on the best selling novel of the same name by Ali Hazelwood. We find a PHD student (Reinhart) pushed into a corner thanks to her friend’s crush on her professor (Bateman). Will she take the risk and put her love theories to the test?

This also stars Rachel Marsh, Nicholas Duvernay, Jaboukie Young-White, and Arty Froushan.

This trailer really plays on the film’s quirkiness, it’s also a little clumsy. Whilst the story might be pushing into generic territory can it rise above and give something that bit different?

Synopsis | Based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Ali Hazelwood, The Love Hypothesis follows Olive (Lili Reinhart), a brilliant Ph.D. candidate focused on her future in academia. But when she realizes her best friend Ahn (Rachel Marsh) has fallen for her crush Jeremy (Nicholas Duvernay), Olive impulsively kisses intimidating professor Adam Carlsen (Tom Bateman) to prove sheโ€™s moved on. What begins as a desperate act of friendship spirals into a fake relationship with rules, boundaries, and a mutually beneficial agreement. When their arrangement begins to blur the lines between performance and reality, Olive is forced to test her most daunting hypothesis yet: that love might actually be worth the risk.

The Love Hypothesis will premiere on Prime Video globally on 23rd September.
