Anand Tucker’s Hilary and Jackie Getting A BFI Blu-Ray Release
The BFI are set to release the British biographical drama Hilary and Jackie starring Emily Watson and Rachel Griffiths on Blu-Ray for the first time.
Hilary and Jackie (1998) tells the story of Jacqueline du Pré (Emily Watson), a brilliant cellist, and her complex bond with her sister Hilary (Rachel Griffiths). The film received widespread critical acclaim upon its release, praised for its emotional depth and powerful performances.
Emily Watson and Rachel Griffiths both earned Oscar® nominations for their portrayals of Jacqueline and Hilary du Pré, who as children, share a joyful world of music, with Hilary initially the star. But Jackie’s talent soon eclipses everything, propelling her to international fame. As Jackie tours the world, the sisters’ relationship is tested.
