2014 Golden Globe Awards Nominations Announced (updated)

It’s nearly 2014 which means the awards season will be kicking in and The 2014 Golden Globe Awards have announce their nominees with American Hustle and 12 Years A Slave leading the line in nominations.

The Golden Globes seen by many as the precursor to the big one The Oscars, honour the best on American television and film the American version of our own BAFTAs.There has been a few other recent  such as the SAG Awards but Golden Globe are regarded as the first of the big ones  with Steven McQueen and David O’Russell‘s films bagging 7 nominations a piece. As for other films Gravity, Spike Jonze’s Her bagged a couple of nominations  whilst American press are shocked that Philomena, Rush though in our both worthy of any nomination.What did surprise some critics was nominations for Kate Winset in Labor Day and The Book Thief score.

At this stage we don’t have the Television nominees but will Mad Men finally get recognition or will Breaking Bad steal the show with it’s final season? Once we get them we’ll share the news with you.

71st Golden Globe Awards  ceremony show will take place on 12th January with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting once again.
