3 Body Problem Season 2 Adds Claudia Doumit & Ellie De Lange
Netflix add The Boys and Wolf Hall stars as regulars for new season.
The production of Netflix‘s sci-fi drama 3 Body Problem season 2 is well under way. Today the streamer announced that The Boys star Claudia Doumit and Wolf Hall star Ellie De Lange are joining the cast.
This critically acclaimed series comes from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones) and Alexander Woo (The Terror: Infamy, True Blood). Today’s news confirms the actors will be regulars in the new season. What characters they will be playing has yet to be announced.
3 Body Problem is based on the books of Chinese author Cixin Liu. They are part of the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy and all about humanity’s first contact with alien life. We follow a young Chinese woman from the 1960’s who make a decision during that decade that changes space and time. The effects follow her right to present day as the laws of nature start to unravel. This pushes some of Earth’s greatest scientific minds to join forces and confront humanity’s greatest threat.
The first season of the drama series spent 3 weeks at No.1 and 7 weeks on the Netflix Global Top 10, where it reached the Top 10 in 93 countries and sent three songs from its soundtrack to Billboard’s Top TV Songs Chart, including Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” at #1.
The debut season was all about the build up and a potential alien invasion. In Season 2, the alien invasion draws closer, and everyone is forced to prepare. Will they succeed in thwarting the threat?
There is no word on which of the season one cast will be returning for the new season. Whoever it is we cannot wait to watch it.
