Earth Takes Revenge In The UK Trailer For Eco-Horror Gaia

Ask for her forgiveness and looking at the fires and extreme temperatures, we might have too. Next month Mother Earth awakes from her sleep and punish humanity in Gaia. Next month the eco-horror is heading to UK cinemas, today we get a taste of the film in the shape of it’s UK Trailer.

The film made it’s world premiere back earlier this year at SXSW receiving some fantastic reviews. It’s also debut feature for South African filmmaker Jaco Bouwer and this reminds especially of Annihilation, unsettling and full of atmosphere.

In Gaia we follow a forest ranger who encounters some serious weirdness in the forest, including a fanatical recluse whose off the grid lifestyle isn’t what it appears to be.

A timely affair that should be a chilling message to us all, look after our planet or soon they’ll be nothing left.

What is initially a welcome rescue grows more suspicious as the son and his renegade father reveal a cultish devotion to the forest. When their cabin is attacked by a strange being it’s clear there is a far greater threat in this unrelenting wilderness.

The film stars Monique Rockman, Carel Nel, Anthony Oseyemi, and Alex Van Dyk.

Gaia will be released in UK and Irish Cinemas from 24th September, then on Digital HD from 27th September. The film will make it’s UK Premiere at Arrow Video FrightFest on 29th August, more info/book tickets here.
