When the power-hungry ruler of the Rocker Trolls threatens to silence all other music so her tribe can reign supreme, Poppy and Branch must embark on an epic quest to unite the realms of Trollskind, before the songs in their hearts are lost forever!

Review

It’s been four years since the bubbly Princess Poppy and grumpy troll Branch graced our screens, and for our family my son was four years old and LOVED the singing and dancing and all the bright colours on screen.

When we sat down to watch Trolls World Tour, I came up against some resistance! My son is now eight, not four and doesn’t want to watch this film! I’m in two minds as I know there’s going to be singing, but it’ll be a remix and mash-up of songs we already know, so I’m open-minded.

Once the film was on he was glued to it! He’s decided he doesn’t like rock music (which I’ve not told his father yet for fear of disowning him), but this is due to the Rock Queen being rather mean!

The Rock Queen lives on one of six realms and decided to unite the entire world with Rock. To do this, she is destroying all other forms of music and as a Techno fan the first 15 minutes into the film were hard to watch for me!

We watched as Poppy, now Queen of Pop, sets out to give the Rock Queen a hug and to be friends, in true pink fluffy Poppy style only to realise that the Rock Queen doesn’t want a hug. She wants to rule supreme.

As the story continues it leads us through the different types of music and why these are all important and diversity is good; how bland the world would be if we were all just one type of music.

The most poignant moment in the movie for me was when Poppy realised it’s OK to be different!

Poppy: “I can make it right; history is just going to keep repeating itself until we make everyone realise we are all the same
