Jake Gyllenhaal Tries To Heal In Stronger First Trailer

In our little world, there’s been too terror attacks happening and one of the most well know is the 2013 Boston Marathon attack. Already the subject of several movies more recently Peter Berg’s Patriot’s Day, in David Gordon Green‘s Stronger we have another movie. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal who plays a victim of the bombing, loss changed him, Tragedy changed him. In a new inspirational movie, Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate Films has released a U.S trailer which delivers a taste of the emotions and tensions the movie has to offer.

This trailer may be our first exposure to the movie and already this looks like a powerful performance from Gyllenhaal proving himself one of the best working actors in the industry.All the cast look like they deliver the emotions as it’s evident this movie will play on our heartstrings. David Gordon Green is an interesting filmmaker whose ability to create stoner comedies like Pineapple Express then create something like Prince Avalanche, Joe. Here’s hoping this one will continue the trend of unique interesting movies.

Stronger is the inspiring true story of Jeff Bauman, an ordinary man who captured the hearts of his city and the world to become the symbol of hope following the infamous 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Jeff, a 27-year-old, working-class Boston man who was at the marathon to try and win back his ex-girlfriend Erin (Tatiana Maslany). Waiting for her at the finish line when the blast occurs, he loses both his legs in the attack. After regaining consciousness in the hospital, Jeff is able to help law enforcement identify one of the bombers, but his own battle has just begun. He tackles months of physical and emotional rehabilitation with the unwavering support of Erin and his family. It is Jeff’s deeply personal account of the heroic journey that tests a family’s bond, defines a community’s pride and inspires his inner courage to overcome devastating adversity. Filled with raw emotion, humanity and humour, Stronger is the inspirational real-life story of the man who became the living embodiment of “Boston Strong.”

Stronger doesn’t have the UK or Irish release date yet, but for American cinephiles, you can catch the movie from 22nd September.Miranda Richardson also Stars
