It’s taken a while but finally, Olivier Assayas‘ Cannes Film Festival favourite Personal Shopper is finally getting a UK release date and today Icon Film Distribution release the first UK Trailer. Starring Kristen Stewart as a high-end fashion personal shopper who has more than an eye for clothes, she can see the dead too!
When you get a near 5 minute standing Ovation after the world premiere at Cannes followed by a number of fantastic reviews (many of them 5 stars), it’s no wonder the movie is creating a buzz. The movie also marks another step in the ladder for Stewart who has been on a transforming personal journey the past few years. Also another right step for her career away from eschews of Twilight Saga to working with unique movie directors, a change of direction working well for her.
Personal Shopper, an ethereal and mysterious ghost story, starring Kristen Stewart as a high-fashion personal shopper to the stars who is also a spiritual medium. Grieving the recent death of her twin brother, she haunts his Parisian home, determined to make contact with him.
This is a bit of a departure for Assayas with it been a Supernatural based drama but tone wise it still essentially feels typical Assayas.
