22ndย  April (8 April USA) sees the release of Jason Winers remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore Movie ARTHUR which sees Russell Brand reprise the role of Arthur Bach a young rich playboy who has everything and when he refuses to marry the woman his mother want him to marry he is cut off from his inheritance.

This one of those movies you didn’t expect to be remade simply because it was popular back in 1981 it wasnt a major sucess though you can see why this movie was remade instead of the big blockbusters that seem to be getting the remake treatment. This movieย  seems to be one of those movies you seem to forget about until someone brings it up again and I was surprised how many people actually didn’t realise this is actually a remake and big difference in this version Arthur Bach actually goes to rehab to sort himself out but for Dudley Moore’s version he actually made a name been the drunk it shows how times have changed now.

Warner Bros UK have released 2 new featurettes which introduce us to Russell Brand’s character Arthur Bach and Brand himself with the other which looks at the rest of the cast. Im not Russell Brand’s biggest fan never even liked him as a comedian but Arthur is his first true test as a lead actor with so many established actors as support, i’m not entirely convinced yet and we may find out this weekend when the American reviews will come out.

Arthur Stars Russell Brand, Helen Mirren, Greta Gerwig, Luis Guzman, Nick Nolte and Jennifer Garner.
