In a blend of the film, tech and sports world, Greek Weird Wave filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos has overseen his fourth collaborative work with double Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone for the Superbowl.

The pair have previously worked together on 2018โ€™s The Favorite, with Stone taking on the role of courtier Abigail Hill, 2023โ€™s Poor Things as Bella Baxter, 2024โ€™s Kinds of Kindness in three separate roles and recently 2025โ€™s Bugonia as CEO Michelle Fuller. The latter has earned Stone her third Oscar nomination for Best Actress following 2016โ€™s La La Land (directed by Damien Chazelle) and Poor Things (both she won).

Now fans of the duo will receive more content delivered in Lanthimosโ€™s signature unconventional, dark style in a commercial for Squarespace, the popular website making platform, marking the companyโ€™s 12th time appearing in a Superbowl ad.

As reported in The Hollywood Reporter, Lanthimosโ€™s ad for Squarespace has a runtime of 30 seconds but the site has shared a snippet to ease fans over until the Superbowlโ€™s 6th February air date.

The teaser shows the directorโ€™s beloved muse Stone in a moderate close-up, stylised in a stark chiaroscuro lighting palette, with Stone appearing distressed and emotional. It concludes with a cut to an abandoned looking, isolated building perched on a singular spot of land in a stormy sea. The companyโ€™s name breaks across the imageโ€™s coldness.

This project also marks Lanthimosโ€™s second commercial for the Superbowl after this yearโ€™s Grubhub advertisement.

The director also teamed up once again with James Price, the same production designer who helped with crafting Lanthimosโ€™s visions for Poor Things, Bugonia and 2023โ€™s The Iron Claw.

Squarespace is getting well and truly into the atmosphere of contemporary film culture with their release of a series of Unavailable film posters and orchestrating a visually composed narrative of moody atmosphere and darkness.
