This Sunday the 30th Annual WWE Survivor Series takes place. Returning to Toronto, Canada for the first time 19 years, this shall be a joint PPV from both Raw and Smackdown. Here is a preview for WWE Survivor Series 2016.
Brock Lesnar VS. Goldberg
After returning to the WWE for the first time in 12 years, Bill Goldberg set his sights on Brock Lesnar. Weeks later the Beast Incarnate would accept the challenge from Goldberg, thus setting up a rematch for Survivor Series. The two previously met at Wrestlemania 20. If you can remember their previous bout you might recall how bad it was; Fans hostile atmosphere, Poorly worked match and both superstars on their way out. However 12 years on the company look intent on making amends on their previous feud. At this point it should be noted that sources have reported that Goldberg is hurting on the way to Survivor Series as this has also been touted as his final Professional Wrestling match. On the other I find it hard to believe Lesnar will lose this Sunday. While this is might be Goldberg’s final match I can only foresee Brock Lesnar winning.
Prediction: Brock Lesnar Def. Goldberg
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match: Team Raw (Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, Braun Storwman, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins) VS. Team Smackdown (AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton & Shane McMahon W/ James Ellsworth)
For the first time in 11 years both brands face off in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag match. Due to both brands leading champions captaining their teams, there is a compelling element of the unexpected. Also the inclusion of Smackdown commissioner Shane McMahon only adds to it. Both teams have similar friction between them as it would seem unlikely for them to remain allies on the night. While I cannot call an outright victorious team I shall be going for Team Raw. Simply because I believe The Undertaker’s warning to Team Smackdown shall be something more than just a promo.
Prediction: Team Raw Def. Team Smackdown.Â
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match: Team Raw (Charlotte, Bayley, Nia Jax, Alicia Fox & Sasha Banks W/ Dana Brooke) VS. Team Smackdown (Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Carmella & Naomi W/ Natalya)
It is great to see the women’s division participate in the Survivor Series Elimination Tag match. Since the brand split I personally believe that company’s image of the division has been enhanced. Both brands possessing versatile and strong division respectively. Hence why I am looking forward to this bout the most of all. Â Furthermore I shall be looking forward to any confrontation from the four-horse women. Overall I am going with a win for Team Smackdown.
Prediction: Team Smackdown Def. Team Raw
Traditional Survivor Series Elmination Match: Team Raw (The New Day, Enzo Amore & Big Cass, Sheamus & Cesaro, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson & The Shining Stars) VS. Team Smackdown (Rhyno & Heath Slater, The Hype Bros, American Alpha, The Usos & Breezango)
This is unique survivor series elimination match. As both respective brands shall showcase their tag team divisions. In addition to this it also has all the elements of an energetic bout. It is also great to see every tag team in the company compete in one ring, something rarely seen. On paper Raw possess the stronger team but Smackdown boast a more versatile one. I am putting my faith in Team Raw to win this survivor series elimination bout.
Prediction: Team Raw Def. Team Smackdown
The Miz VS. Sami Zayn for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
I will make no bones about it, The Miz is great. 2016 has proven to be the peak of his career as he has boasted a great Intercontinental title reign. In addition to this I also believe he is one of the most underrated workers in the company, as he has shown the WWE Universe time and time again. On the other hand Sami Zayn has the wind in his sail heading into Survivor Series. Much like The Miz, Sami Zayn is far too underrated in my opinion. Despite The Miz regaining the title only this past week, Sami Zayn’s time is now. A first main roster title victory for Zayn in his native home would be perfect, thus I am going for a Sami Zayn win.
Prediction: Sami Zayn Def. The Miz to become WWE Intercontinental Champion
Kalisto VS. Brian Kendrick for the WWE Crusierweight Championship (If Kalisto wins, the Crusierweight division moves to Smackdown)
The return of the Crusierweight division has not been great. Since returning to WWE TV in June it has failed to really get going, also failing to capture the WWE Universe’s attention. Recently Smackdown 205 debuted on Tuesday nights as this is a show dedicated for the Crusierweight division. So with this in mind I believe that the division shall be confirming Smackdown as it’s new home, thus I am adamant that Kalisto shall defeat Brian Kendrick to become Crusierweight champion. Also seeing the Crusierweight division return to its original home: Tuesday Night Smackdown.
Prediction: Kalisto Def. Brian Kendrick to become WWE Crusierweight Champion and the Crusierweight division to move to Smackdown.
