Who is The ‘True Con Artist’? Watch The Good Liar Second Trailer

Next month we’ll able to enjoy two of the best of British actors sharing the big screen in The Good Liar. Bill Condon‘s film sees him work with Ian McKellan for a fourth time and Helen Mirren.

Today Warner Bros Pictures release a second UK Trailer that asks a simple question, Who is the ‘True Con Artist’?

McKellan plays seasoned con artist Bill Courtnay whose luck is in place when he meets Betty (Mirren). Betty has recently become a widow and she opens up to Roy. Is Roy truly caring for her or will continue his swindle before it turns into something else?

The latest trailer suggest Betty may not be entirely honest. What secrets does she hide? Is she also a con artist? Great to see a film that remembers, film is for all ages, not the few. Great to see to much loved actors show off their treasured qualities. A promising genre film on the cards…

The New Line Cinema drama “The Good Liar” pairs Oscar winner Helen Mirren (“The Queen”) and two-time Oscar nominee Ian McKellen (“Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” “Gods and Monsters”) on the big screen for the first time.

Bill Condon, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of “Gods and Monsters,” directed and produced the film from a screenplay by Jeffrey Hatcher (“Mr. Holmes”), based on the widely acclaimed novel by Nicholas Searle.

Career con artist Roy Courtnay (McKellen) can hardly believe his luck when he meets well-to-do widow Betty McLeish (Mirren) online. As Betty opens her home and life to him, Roy is surprised to find himself caring about her, turning what should be a cut-and-dry swindle into the most treacherous tightrope walk of his life.

“The Good Liar” also stars Russell Tovey (TV’s “Quantico”) and Jim Carter (TV’s “Downton Abbey”)

“The Good Liar” was filmed on location in London and Berlin.

New Line Cinema presents, in association with BRON Creative, a 1000 Eyes Production, a Bill Condon Film, “The Good Liar.” The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film also stars Russell Tovey and Jim Carter. The Good Liar will be released nationwide on 8 November 2019  (and the USA 15th November) by Warner Bros. Pictures.
