Watch UK Trailer For British Indie Last Swim

Young woman lies with friends in Last Swim

Vertigo Releasing have sent us the official UK Trailer for Last Swim the indie debut feature for British filmmaker Sasha Nathwani.

The film has been making some positive sounds since it’s world premiere at last year’s Berlin Film Festival. It left the German capital with the Crystal Bear for ‘Best Film’ aimed at 14 years old and upwards.

Last Swim is set during an blistering warm A-level results day. An ambitious Iranian-British teen in London grapples with a major life decision while hanging out with friends across the city.

Nathwanis idea came into fruition during the Covid pandemic, focusing the young people of the world. When their seminal years were stolen from them and a horrible time for humanity in general.

Set over a sweltering A-Level results day in London, LAST SWIM follows Ziba, a promising British-Iranian teen, as she leads her friends on an eventful journey across the city, culminating in a once in a lifetime astronomical event. Despite the celebratory atmosphere, Ziba struggles to retain her characteristic optimism as she finds herself battling the intrusive fears and secrets she’s been hiding from her friends. As day turns to night, Ziba has no choice but to confront the irreversible event she has planned.

The film also stars Deba Hekmat, Lydia Fleming, Denzel Baidoo, Solly McLeod, Jay Lycurgo, Michelle Greenidge with Narges Rashidi. The Last Swim will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 4th April.
