Watch Trailer For Sophie: A Murder In West Cork True Crime Series

Netflix has become the go to destination for many true crime documentaries and later this month the latest series will be released. The series is Sophie: A Murder In West Cork, today Netflix tease us with the official Trailer.

The three part series examines one of Ireland’s most famous murders, of French documentary producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier, who was found dead in West Cork in 1996.

This promo does show snippets of interviews with Sophie Toscan du Plantier‘s family. Something other films have never been able to do as her family have refused to talk on camera until now. The filmmakers (John Dower) also seem to show Sophie’s life before her death, giving you a chance to create a profile of her.

It’s a fascinating crime which 25 years on the case is still unsolved!

This three-part series examines one of Ireland’s most famous murder cases, the death of French producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier in the town of Schull, West Cork in 1996. The brutal murder, which shocked the country, triggered one of the biggest murder investigations Ireland had ever seen and became a national obsession. The documentary will chart the circumstances of her death, unravelling the extraordinary story from its beginning, 24 years ago to the present day. With exclusive access to Sophie Toscan du Plantier’s family, the series will bring together, for the first time, the views of her family with Ian Bailey, the man at the centre of the investigation.

Sophie: A Murder In West Cork, is coming to Netflix on 30th June.
