Who said the Germans don’t have a dark sense of humour? Then check out the Official Trailer for Where’s Wanda? The German dark comedy series coming to Apple TV+ in October.
The eight episode series is the first Apple original series from the country. The series is created, written and executive produced by Oliver Lansley (“Flack”), Nataly Kudiabor (“Arthur’s Law”) and Sebastian Werninger (“The Physician”). The series is co-created and based on a story by Zoltan Spirandelli (“Vaya con Dios”). It’s also directed by Christian Ditter (“How To Be Single”), Tobi Baumann (“Faking Hitler”) and Facundo Scalerandi (“How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)”).
Where’s Wanda? stars Heike Makatsch many will recognise as the flirty secretary from Love Actually. Also starring is Axel Stein, Lea Drinda, Leo Simon, Nikeata Thompson, Palina Rojinski, Kostja Ullmann and Harriet Herbig-Matten. What’s it all about? Dedo and Carlotta Klatt are desperate to find where their 17 year old daughter Wanda has went to. After a failed attempt by the police they take matters into their own hands, spying on halt their neighbours.
“Where’s Wanda?” tells the story of Dedo and Carlotta Klatt (Stein and Makatsch), who are desperate to locate their missing 17-year-old daughter Wanda (Drinda), who disappeared months ago without a trace. When the police fail to find her, the family takes matters into their own hands, obtaining surveillance devices with the help of their tech-savvy son Ole (Simon). Disguising themselves as employees of an electrical company, they bug first their neighbourhood and then half their suburb, finding out that behind closed doors none of their neighbours are who they pretend to be.
The series also features Devid Striesow (“All Quiet on the Western Front”), Jasmin Shakeri (“The Magic Flute”) and Joachim Król (“The Most Desired Man”).
Where’s Wanda? will premiere globally with the first two episodes on Wednesday, 2nd October.
