Watch The UK Trailer For Welsh Language Horror The Feast
One night, One House. One hell of a feast and this Summer Welsh folk horror The Feast (Gwledd) will be released today Picturehouse Entertainment release the UK Trailer!
The film marked the directorial feature debut for Lee Haven Jones (Doctor Who). A haunting, slow-burning horror tale exploring the consequences of greed, corruption and man’s exploitation of the earth. Oh did we mention this film is in the Welsh language too!
The story unfolds at wealthy family’s home in the Welsh mountains. They are joined by some local business people and when a mysterious young woman arrives to be the waitress for the night , things start slowly unravel. Challenging the family’s values and beliefs.
Our genre editor Bradley Hadcroft watched the film at last year’s SXSW Festival saying “essentially a modernist eco-fable, The Feast does what all folk horror does best“.

Filmed in the Welsh language, THE FEAST (GWLEDD) unfolds over the course of one evening as a wealthy family gathers for a sumptuous dinner in their ostentatious house in the Welsh mountains. The guests are a local businessman and a neighbouring farmer, and the intent is to secure a business deal to mine in the surrounding countryside. When a mysterious young woman arrives to be their waitress for the evening, the family’s beliefs and values are challenged as her quiet yet disturbing presence begins to unravel their lives – slowly, deliberately and with the most terrifying consequences.
It stars Annes Elwy (Little Women), Nia Roberts (Under Milk Wood), Julian Lewis Jones (Justice League), Steffan Cennydd (Last Summer) and Sion Alun Davies (The Left Behind).
The Feast (Gwledd) will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 19th August.
