Watch The UK Trailer For Coming Of Age Drama Extra Geography

Sometimes the hardest lessons aren’t on the timetable. Vertigo Releasing have dropped the UK Trailer for coming of age comedy drama Extra Geography.

They say school is when you meet those best friends, in Molly Manners (Netflix’s One Day)film looks to be the case and more. This recently played at Edinburgh Film Festival and its seem the audience captured the warmth, joyful side leaving with positive reviews.

Extra Geography finds us in early 2000’s England. We follow 2 best friends at Boarding school who both happen to fall in love with their geography teacher.

The ‘best friends’  are played by Marnie Duggan (in her first lead role) and Galaxie Clear. Many women will connect with their story all things on girls minds: friends, boys, school. This is getting compared to the likes of Lady Bird as well as Frances Ha, should give you the clue on the tone…

The cast includes Alice Englert, Aoife Riddell, Shvorne Mark, Iyla Sundarsingh McKaig, Aarti Panesar,Jairaj Varsani, and Cody Mitchell.

Synopsis | This funny, authentic coming of age story is an intimate snapshot of the challenges and joys of teenage girlhood. Flic and Minna are best friends and high achievers at a British girls’ boarding school, fiercely focused on their futures and making it into the best possible university. Their intimate friendship and universe are challenged when they decide to become more “worldly” and embark on their big summer project to fall in love with the next person they see, who happens to be their geography teacher, Miss Delavigne. At first, they both treat this project as seriously as they do their academic pursuits. But as Flic and Minna take part in the school’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in partnership with a boys’ school, their love project is challenged. Are they still playing a game or are they now experiencing real feelings and facing the differences emerging between them? The confusion creates stress and tension in their friendship.

Extra Geography is set for a UK and Irish Cinema Release from 2nd October.
