Safe Places (2019)

The Movie Partnership have announced they will be releasing the American indie comedy Safe Places.

Released as After Class in the US, the film stars Justin Long (Dodgeball, / Die Hard 4.0) as a New York City professor, who spends a week re-connecting with his family while defending his reputation over controversial behaviour at his college.

‘Safe Place’ sounds like an American thing, creating an area for students to be accepted without fear of being ostracized or judged. Long playing a college professor who attempts to create one of these spaces that finds him in more trouble than ever.

The film was released critical success at Tribeca Film Festival last year in the U.S. Check out the film’s official Trailer

Justin Long plays a New York college professor who aims for his classroom to be a safe space for students, but a lesson plan pushes students to share more than they wish, forcing him take a deeper look at whether safe spaces live up to their name. He escapes from the local college controversy to reconnect with his own unique family, who are navigating how to deal with the emotions of having an ailing grandmother.

The film also stars Fran Drescher, Richard Schiff, Camrus Johnson, Kate Berlant, Becky Ann Baker, Tyler Wladis, Lynn Cohen, Samrat Chakrabarti, Dana Eskelson, and Michael Godere. The film is directed by Daniel Schechter.

Safe Places will be coming to digital download 7th December in the UK and Ireland.
