It’s been a long long road and as promised Warner Bros Pictures have released the First Trailer for Dune. 36 years Fans of the Frank Herbert classic sci-fi novel have waited for someone to deliver an worthy film adaptation. Could Denis Villeneuve‘s be that adaptation they have been waiting for?
It’s certainly epic, action packed, most of all exhilarating. For decades the book was considered impossible to be made into a film, so was The Lord Of The Rings. Peter Jackson done wonders with his trilogy, Villeneuve proved with Blade Runner 2049 was a worthy sequel to Ridley Scott‘s 1982 version. Can he unearth the magic once again and eradicate the nightmares of David Lynch’s 1984 film?
Timothée Chalamet, stars as Paul Atreides, whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. The only planet able to produce the valuable spice commodity Spice Melange that lets people space travel.After his family is betrayed, Paul has to lead a group of rebels to regain control.
The film will be two parts, too big for one film. Some are calling this this decades The Lord Of The Rings, sign me up!

The film also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.
Dune will be released in the UK, Ireland and the USA from 18th December.
