Watch The Darkly Funny UK Trailer For Thunder Road Starring Jim Cummings

Thunder Road (Jim Cummings)

If anyone tells you a short film won’t get you anywhere, just ask Jim Cummings about Thunder Road. In 2016 he brought his film to the Sundance Film Festival, leaving it with the Grand Jury Prize. Three years later that award winning short is now a full feature and this Spring the film will get it’s UK release.

Thunder Road is inspired by the Bruce Springsteen song of the same name. Jim Arnaud (Cummings) is a small town police officer who has just lost his mother. As he tries to come to terms with his loss, luck seems to have deserted him. Going through a messy divorce and doing his best for his daughter, his life seems to be falling apart.

We caught the film at last month’s Glasgow Film Festival, ended up been one of our favourites. We described it as ” a funny, but tender film of a broken man“. When you see the heartfelt Funeral scene you will laugh out loud, here’s our tweet…

Jim is a bright new comedic talent whose powerhouse performance takes audiences on a journey paved with outrageous comedy as well as truly heart-breaking moments. If you are an aspiring filmmaker looking for your big break, you should follow Jim’s story. His determination to make his film from the early Kickstarter days, self financing, lots of blood, sweat and tears.

Vertigo Releasing are releasing the film in the UK and Ireland and Today have released the film’s UK Trailer. The promo is a nice balance humour and drama and glimpse of Jim in his breakdown. Below also is the film’s official Poster too…

Festival favourite THUNDER ROAD is a darkly funny tale that follows the story of Jim Arnaud (Jim Cummings), a police officer who faces a personal breakdown following the death of his mother, a recent divorce and the struggles of trying to connect with his young daughter.

The film also includes Kendal Farr, Nican Robinson, Jocelyn Deboer, Chelsea Edmundson, Macon Blair, Ammie Leonards, and Bill Wise.

Thunder Road will be in UK and Irish Cinemas from 31st May.
