Watch The Charming Black Beauty Disney+ Trailer

The classic Anna Sewell novel, Black Beauty is timeless, over the decades it’s been adapted for the big and small screen. Later this month Disney will give the book another film, a modern take as well as a new country.

Today Disney have released the film’s official Trailer reveals the familiar story. The plot might be generic however this is one story those tropes suit it. Mackenzie Foy plays a teen girl called Jo who sadly loses her family to tragedy and lives with her uncle at his stables. It’s when they get a wild horse, she forges an unbreakable bond with the horse she names ‘Black Beauty’. That bond is shattered when the horse is sold, Jo is determined to reunite with her new friend.

This version wonders from the source material with the most notable being the horse is now female (voiced by Kate Winslet). It looks cliched, done a thousand times before, the big task will be in it’s delivery.

This modern day reimagining of Anna Sewell’s timeless classic, follows Black Beauty (Kate Winslet), a wild horse born free in the American West. Rounded up and taken away from her family, Beauty is brought to Birtwick Stables where she meets a spirited teenage girl, Jo Green (Mackenzie Foy). Beauty and Jo forge an unbreakable bond that carries Beauty through the different chapters, challenges, and adventures of her life.

The film also stars Claire Forlani, Iain Glen, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Fern Deacon, Patrick Lyster, and Calam Lynch.

Black Beauty will launch on Disney+ from 27th November.
