Watch The Captivating Trailer For Studio Ponoc’s The Imaginary
Japanese Anime Studio Studio Ponoc have released a new captivating English Subs trailer for The Imaginary.
The new animated Feature Film is an Adaptation of the Bestselling Book “The Imaginary” by A.F. Harrold and Emily Gravett. Originally meant for release in 2022, which the first trailer was teased in 2021 and now set for a Christmas release in Japan.
The film marks Studio Ponoc‘s second cinematic feature, the previous being Mary and the Witch’s Flower. The film is known in Japan as Yaneura no Rudger (Rudger in the Attic).
The Imaginary is the story of a young girl Amanda who has an imaginary friend called Rudiger. Only Amanda can see him until he evil Mr. Bunting arrives at her door. He who eats imaginary friends who pushes Rudiger who must find his creator once again before Mr Bunting gets him.

Born from a young girl’s imagination, Rudger is a boy no one can see who lives in a world where imaginations can live and be eaten by others. The Imaginary is an extraordinarily touching and beautiful hand-drawn fantasy film in which Rudger and his new friends in “The Town of The Imaginaries” embark on an adventure no one can see at the risk of the futures and fates of those they love.
The Japanese version cast includes Kokoro Terada, Rio Suzuki, Sakura Ando, Riisa Naka, Takayuki Yamada, Atsuko Takahata and Issey Ogata, with more announcements soon, including the English version cast.
The Imaginary will be released in Japan on 15th December, Here in the UK, Ireland, The U.S and other regions of the world, the film will be released in 2024.
