Last year the film made it’s world premiere at SXSW. Now Emma Westenberg‘s debut feature will soon make it’s UK premiere at Glasgow Film Festival ahead of it’s cinematic release.
Real life father daughter acting together do but rarely see the light on the big and small screen. Recently Ethan Hawke starred alongside his daughter Maya in Wildcat. Now it’s time for the McGregor’s with an emotional dramatic turn that comes in the shape of a road trip.
Bleeding Love tells the story of a father on an impromptu road trip. He hopes to reconnect with his estranged child, now-adult daughter after she has a near-fatal drug overdose. The pair now go on the road trip, she has no clue se is planning to take her to rehab.
Synopsis | In hopes of reconnecting with his estranged child, a father (Golden Globe®-Winner Ewan McGregor) embarks on an impromptu road trip with his now-adult daughter (Clara McGregor) after she has a near-fatal drug overdose. He is planning to take her to rehab – though she doesn’t know that. En route to their destination of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and encountering an eccentric array of characters along the way, the two are forced to confront the issues of their past, the trip proving less about the road that they’re on, and more about the troubled one from their past.
The film also stars Kim Zimmer, Devyn McDowell, Sasha Alexander, Jake Weary and Vera Bulde. Bleeding Love will make it’s UK Premiere at Glasgow Film Festival,2nd March [more info/tickets]. If you are unable to attend, Icon Film will release the film in UK and Irish cinemas from 29th March.
