“Who the hell is Anna Delvey?” Inspired by the true story of a total fake, Inventing Anna is the latest upcoming series from Shondaland and Netflix has released the first teaser trailer.
Shonda Rhimes has been making herself a name when it comes to scandal especially on Netflix. As we wait for her other channel success Bridgerton second season to arrive online, the latest scandal we find ourselves in current times. Julie Garner (Ozark) will play Anna Sorokin in this 9 part series he woman who stole the hearts of New York’s social scene.
Anna Delvey is her online (Instagram) persona, the fake German heiress who make a name for herself on the New York party scene. Befriending the socialites, stealing their hearts and at the same time defrauding them for their money.
The series is based on the report by the journalist who investigated her Jessica Pressler, How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People. In the series Anna Chulmsky stars as journalist Vivian who would help bring justice to those who were defrauded.
In Inventing Anna, a journalist with a lot to prove investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York’s social scene – and stole their money as well. But is Anna New York’s biggest con woman or is she simply the new portrait of the American dream? Anna and the reporter form a dark, funny love-hate bond as Anna awaits trial and our reporter fights the clock to answer the biggest question in NYC: who is Anna Delvey? The series is inspired by the New York Magazine article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” by Jessica Pressler
The limited series Inventing Anna will be released on Netflix in 2022 with 11th February the date being mentioned. Laverne Cox, Katie Lowes, and Alexis Floyd also star.
