Not every couple wants to have children, for those it’s a gamechanger but a rewarding one for those who take the leap. In The Assessment we find ourselves in the future , parenthood is controlled. by those in power. Those who want to be parents are put through a  seven-day assessment for the right to have a child. We follow wannabe parents (Olsen and Patel) put through the nightmarish assessment question what it truly means to be human.
Depending how you look at life today, some couples may think the choice is already restricted, especially with the cost of living. It’s terrifying sci-fi films now resonate more as they did several decades ago. Should couples be ‘assessed’ in the way this film works? Dystopian worlds rule…
In the near future where parenthood is strictly controlled, a couple’s seven-day assessment for the right to have a child unravels into a psychological nightmare, forcing them to question the very foundations of their society and what it truly means to be human.
The film also stars Minnie Driver, Indira Varma, Charlotte Ritchie, Nicholas Pinnock, Leah Harvey, and Anaya Thorley. The Assessment will premiere on Prime Video from 8th May.
