Watch Atmospheric New Clip For Ruth Paxton’s A Banquet

The saying ‘A picture paints a thousand words’, you could for this new atmospheric clip for Ruth Paxton‘s unsettling psychological chiller A Banquet. 

In four week’s time Signature Entertainment will bring this indie psychological thriller to UK cinemas. Today they tease with a new clip that may not have dialogue, the sense of dread is near tangible.

The film stars Sienna Guillory as Holly a woman radically tested by her teenage daughter who experiences a profound enlightenment. She insists her body is no longer hers but to a higher power and she refuses to eat loosing no weight in the process.

Could this be the profound experience that changes Holly’s daughter (played by Jessica Alexander)? Ominous, chilling and we  want to see more!

A Banquet is an unsettling, thought-provoking and hyper-tense psychological thriller from director Ruth Paxton. The film stars Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil franchise, Luther), Jessica Alexander (Get Even), Ruby Stokes (Rocks, Bridgerton) and Lindsay Duncan (Birdman). Widowed mother, Holly (Guillory), is pushed to breaking point when her daughter Betsey (Alexander) develops an extreme eating disorder. She claims she has experienced a profound enlightenment where her body is in service to a higher power. Possessed by Betsey’s illness, her family are faced with an agonising dilemma, torn between love and fear, and Holly is forced to confront the boundaries of her own belief. A Banquet played at Toronto International Film Festival and The London Film Festival in 2021.

The film also stars  Ruby Stokes, Lindsay Duncan, and Kaine Zajaz.

A Banquet will be released in UK and Irish cinemas as well as Digital on the same day of 11th March. The film will make it’s Scottish premiere at Glasgow Film Festival on 5th March [more info/book tickets].
