He may have been a young whippersnapper  trying to break into movies during the last years of  the Golden Age Hollywood but, it was an era close to Warren Beatty‘s heart. He maybe an actor known for the ‘New Hollywood’ era (1960’s -), Beatty finds himself in Rules Don’t Apply, an homage to Golden Age Cinema. An umbrage of that era as a young wannabe actress and the driver trying to be young lovers in the background of an eccentric entrepreneur strict rules.
20th Century Fox Pictures have sent us the movies 3rd UK trailer  Snow White (Lilly Collins) and a Young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) attempt to defy their bosses No.1  rule no employee is allowed to have any relationship whatsoever with a contract actress. check out the trailer now….
It might have been 15 years since Beatty has been in front of a camera, it’s 18 years since he directed. If you enjoyed The Coen Brothers Hail, Caesar! Rules Don’t Apply will be right up your alley. Whatever you do get Mr Beatty some Banana and Peanut Ice Cream!!!
We also have a new Featurette called ‘Director Piece‘ – insightful new promo  in which the cast describe working with the great man as an actor and director.
In Rules Don’t Apply we meet an aspiring young actress (Lily Collins) and her ambitious young driver (Alden Ehrenreich) struggle hopefully with the absurd eccentricities of the wildly unpredictable billionaire (Warren Beatty) whom they work for.
It’s Hollywood, 1958. Small town beauty queen and devout Baptist virgin Marla Mabrey (Collins), under contract to the infamous Howard Hughes (Beatty), arrives in Los Angeles. At the airport, she meets her driver Frank Forbes (Ehrenreich), who is engaged to be married to his 7th grade sweetheart and is a deeply religious Methodist. Their instant attraction not only puts their religious convictions to the test, but also defies Hughes’ #1 rule: no employee is allowed to have any relationship whatsoever with a contract actress. Hughes’ behaviour intersects with Marla and Frank in very separate and unexpected ways, and as they are drawn deeper into his bizarre world, their values are challenged and their lives are changed.
Steeped in 50’s Hollywood glamour, Rules Don’t Apply stars Alec Baldwin, Annette Bening, Haley Bennett, Candice Bergen, Matthew Broderick, Dabney Coleman, Steve Coogan, Taissa Farmiga, Ed Harris, Megan Hilty, Oliver Platt and Martin Sheen.
Catch the movie in January 2017.
