W4Free Celebrate Pride Month With Critically Acclaimed Venus

W4Free marks National Pride Month with a first UK AVOD broadcast of critically-acclaimed transgender comedy-drama

Genders, generations and cultures collide in this multi award-winning heartfelt comedy Venus is coming to W4Free.ย  The UK AVOD channel is setย  to give the film it’s UK premiere this month which also happens to be Pride Month.

The film is directed by Eisha Marjara and tells the story of a South Asian transgender woman Sid (Debargo Sanyal), who sees her life flipped on its head when she meets a โ€œwhiteโ€ teenaged son (Jamie Mayers) she didnโ€™t know she had.

Sid (Debargo Sanyal) is under pressure to marry a nice Indian girl and raise a family. Her dreams are about to come true, but not in the way she couldโ€™ve ever imagined. When Sid comes out as a woman, Ralph (Jamie Mayers). a 14 year old boy, literally shows up at her door announcing that Sid is his parent.

Ralph is surprised to discover that his biological father is now a woman, but thinks having a transgender parent is pretty cool. But Ralph hasnโ€™t told his mother and step dad that heโ€™s tracked down Sid. And then there is Sidโ€™s boyfriend Daniel (Pierre-Yves Cardinal), who has yet to tell his family of his relationship with her. But Sidโ€™s coming out forces everyone out of the closet and to become realโ€ฆ

W4Free, the nationโ€™s fastest-growing film streaming service, which also provides TV series and documentaries, can be accessed on laptops, PCs and via Netgem TV. Later in the year it will be available on all mobile devices and connected TVโ€™s.
