Horror Channel Frightfest Glasgow 2017 Line Up

It’s the new year and can only mean one thing Horror Channel Frightfest is coming home, that’s second home as the dark heart of cinema announces it’s 2017 Glasgow Line Up.The UK’s favourite Horror Fantasy unveils a lineup of Monstrous stories, unspeakable urban legends, brutal acts and fearsome folktales. A record-breaking fourteen movies, including ten UK premieres in the confines of the iconic Glasgow Film Theatre.

Kicking off the twelfth Frightfest Glasgow will be a special screening of Gore Verbinski’s A Cure For Wellness, an intense psychological ride on 23rd February. The gorefest will be ending in sex and blood-drenched frenzy with the UK premiere of Roberto San Sebastiรกnโ€™s The Night Of The Virgin on 25th February. The same night as Gore Verbinski’s movie, there will be an exclusive unveiling of Phantasm: Remastered, a new 4K restoration of the never forgotten fantasy horror masterpiece.

After the business of Thursday night, Friday’s line-up springs into high-octane action with the UK premiere of Matthias Hoeneโ€™s blockbusting $50 million fantasy epic The Warriorโ€™s Gate. Up next ย is a zombie road movie ย and would you believe is unexpectedly heart-felt too?It’sย called It Stains The Sands Red,ย and will be the movies UK Premiere ย withย Director Colin Minihan and lead actress Brittany Allen in attendance. Michael Oโ€™Sheaโ€™s nihilistic meditation on millennial angst ย The Transfiguration, ย the movie that Cannes 2016 by storm. Weโ€™re pleased to say that Michael will be joining us to discuss the film.

As the first night draws to a close ย we’ll end with 2 movies, firstย monster mash fury with the original Gangsta Lizard wreaking fabulous havoc in the UK Premiere of Shin Godzilla and rounding off the evening in visually stunning style with ย dark and dangerous desert death games is the first UK showing of Joe Dietsch & Louie Gibsonโ€™s award-winning Happy Hunting.

Getting the Saturday programme started when things get extremeย the UK premiere ofย Gerald Rascionatoโ€™s Cage Dive, well-received take on survivor reality TV. This is followed by the hotly anticipated UK premiere of Simon Rumley‘s Fashionista,a shockingly hypnotic exploration of addiction, body image and transformation. Simon will be in attendance to discuss the film what some critics are calling his best film to date.

Also in attendance is director ย Steven Kastrissios,ย whose movie ย Bloodlands, which marks Albania first foray into horror cinema (with a little help fromย Australia) . Aย passion project invites you to explore the mind-set of modern Albania while embarking on a spellbinding journey into terror. This is the World Premiere and Steven will be joined on stage by the main cast.

Make sure youโ€™re strapped in as revenge takes to the road ย for the UK premiere of Christopher Smithโ€™s twisted revenge road move Detour. Creep, Triangle director will be in attendance to chat about his new movie.

Saturday evening unfolds in adrenaline-fueled style with the UK premiere of Stefan Ruzowitzkyโ€™s Patient Zero, starring Matt Smith, Stanley Tucci and Natalie Dormer battling super-fit, highly intelligent undead killers! This is followed by the UK premiere of Ben Youngโ€™s powerfully disturbing debut Hounds Of Love, a unique three-way study of a serial-killing couple and their latest female victim.

All boundaries will be pushed to end this yearโ€™s Horror Channel Frightfestย withย  the UK premiere of an Roberto San Sebastiรกnโ€™s The Night Of The Virgin is disgusting, offensive, hilarious and totally brilliant!ย extreme horrorย ย with laughs!

In addition, there is a sneak preview of Dominic Bruntโ€™s Adult Babies, with the popular actor / director ย known to many as Paddy from Emmerdale will be in attendance

FrightFest Passes are ยฃ70 and available from noon on Monday January 16, 2016.ย  Passes cover all films on Friday 24th and Saturday 25 Feb ONLY.
