Untitled Evil Dead Movie gets New Cast Members
The cast for the upcoming Evil Dead movie by filmmaker Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop in Yuma County) is beginning to come together, with the latest cast members announced today. The film will follow up this year’s Evil Dead Burn and was first reported in April 2024 by Deadline.
The announced ensemble includes the likes of Charlotte Hope (The Nun), Jessica McNamee (Mortal Kombat), Zach Gilford (Midnight Mass), Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road), Ella Newton (Dangerous Animals), Australian newcomer Ella Oliphant, and Elizabeth Cullen (Goolagong).
The film is currently untitled, with the logline also being kept under wraps. Galluppi will direct from his own script, with New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures co-financing. The last film released in the franchise, Evil Dead Rise, by Lee Cronin, grossed $147 million worldwide. Longtime franchise producer Rob Tapert is producing alongside the original series creator, Sam Raimi, with Romel Adam, Jose Cañas, and Lee Cronin exec producing. Bruce Campbell, who played Ash in various projects across the horror franchise, is also involved.
New Line Cinema will distribute the untitled film in the USA through Warner Bros. Pictures, with Sony distributing internationally, StudioCanal UK distributing in the UK, and Metropolitan Filmexport distributing in France. News about the upcoming Evil Dead cast comes a few months out from Evil Dead Burn, the next instalment in the series, which will be directed by Infested‘s Sébastien Vaniček.
