UK Trailer & First Clip For Broken City Starring Russell Crowe, Mark Whalberg
Allen Hughes (Book Of Eli) directorial filmography may not excite many people but when your latest film Broken City has 2 leading men Mark Whalberg, Russell Crowe in the cast it’s worth a look. We haven’t heard much about the film apart from the U.S trailer released back in October but tonight we have the first videos from the UK campaign with the UK official Trailer and the first official clip.
Broken City is a crime drama of corruption, desire, and violence around the corner which tells the story of Billy Target(Whalberg) an ex cop thrown out the force after shooting a 16 year old several years ago but thanks to the mayor of new york (Crowe) is kept out of jail. Billy becomes a private investigator and is given the task to look into the mayor’s wifes infidelity (Catherine Zeta Jones) he uncovers something more sinister.
The trailer highlights corruption within the film and in the clip called ‘I Own You’ shows off the tension, friction between Whalberg and Crowe’s character, but most of all how assertive Crowe’s is too. Broken City doesn’t win marks on originality however it looks like an intriguing old fashioned style crime drama warm us up for the Easter onslaught which we know is the start of the Summer blockbusters! Broken City has a new UK&Irish release date of 1st March 2013 with 25th January been U.S release date. The film also stars Jeffrey Wright, Kyle Chandler, Ambyr Childers and Griffin Dunne.
