Trust The Unknown In Netflix’s The OA Trailer

This coming Friday ‘Trust The Unkown’ and ‘trust’ Zal Batmanglij and Brit Marling (Sound of My Voice, The East) as the pair work together once again on The OA. Ahead of it’s Friday 16th December Netflix have sent us the 8 part series official trailer for this mind-bending odyssey.

The Netflix Original Series The show begins with a missing blind girl in her twenties, Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling), who comes home to the community she grew up in with her sight restored. Some hail her a miracle, others a dangerous mystery, but Prairie won’t talk about her seven years missing with the FBI or her parents.

The show was announced back in 2015 but right up until now all we’ve known about the show is out ‘late 2016’. The genre shows have excelled in 2016 and with the likes of Westworld and Stranger Things finished this series might just fill the gap as well wait for season 2 aforementioned shows.Netflix has taken a slightly different approach to the promotion, teasing with little mysterious conundrums, short snippets of video. It feels the less we know about this the more captivating the series will be. Netflix might have a lot of Marvel Comic Book heroes tv shows and shows might be seen ‘mainstream’, The OA is a sign they want to cater also for those who enjoy something a little more sophisticated and arthouse.

Other cast members include Emory Cohen (Brooklyn, The Place Beyond the Pines), Scott Wilson (The Walking Dead, Junebug), Phyllis Smith (The Office), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Fury, Dig), Alice Krige (Star Trek: First Contact, Silent Hill), Patrick Gibson (The Tudors), Brendan Meyer (Mr. Young, The Guest) and newcomers Ian Alexander and Brandon Perea.

The OA will be launched globally (including UK&Ireland) Friday 16th December.
