Another raunchy season of True Blood premiered on June 16 2013. However it is the first season not to have been based on the corresponding novel, instead being based around multiple parts of different books. It is also a shortened season, featuring only 10 episodes instead of the usual 12. Rumored to be in part due to Anna Paquin’s pregnancy and partly due to financial reasons.
Season 6 of True Blood picks up where Season 5 left off. Needless to say this article features some spoilers so if you haven’t seen it yet consider yourself warned! This season features two prominent deaths: Snookie’s paramour, Warlow, and possibly Eric Northman. Of course these aren’t the only jaw dropping elements of this season. HBO UK has a treat in store for all True Blood fans.
A massive dong?
Episode One of HBO series True Blood Season 6 starts off with the reincarnation of Bill apparently sporting a “massive dong”. In Bon, Andy is tasked with raising four newborn human-faerie hybrids, and the Governor of Louisiana pledges its open season on the vampires.
In Episode Two, Bill has discovered his new powers and contemplates their meaning and scope. A long lost relative is uncovered to Jason and Sookie. Eric decides to take it upon himself to stop the Governor’s anti-vampire tactics and Sookie is captivated by a handsome man who has shown the same faerie-like abilities she does.
In Episode Three we continue with Eric’s struggle against Governor Burrel’s war on vampires. Sookie discovers why Warlow wants her, much to her dismay. The Vampire Unity Society (V.U.S) and Nicole lend a hand to Sam and Bill begins searching for a new type of blood and enlists a Tru-blood expert.
As we move to Episode Four, Eric takes further action to counter the Governor’s anti-vampire measures. We learn that Andy’s faeries have been keeping dangerous company and finally Sookie admits her attraction to Ben by asking him to dinner.
Summoning the dead
In Episode Five we take a turn for the strange, with Sookie enlisting the help of Lafayette to summon her dead parents. Eric and Pam, being frustrated, resort to some drastic measures to rescue Pam and Andy and pick up the pieces of his broken family.
Next time out we find Bill traveling to another plane to seek the help of Lilith on the escalating crisis between the humans and vampires. Sookie realises she is a danger whore and decides to have sex with Warlow. Bill mounts an attack on the Governor, killing him and using his new found powers to get the guards to kill each other. Excellent stuff!
By the time we get to Episode Seven, we find Nora ailing and Bill trying his best with a last ditch effort to save her. Sookie and Warlow move to a secret place where they have sex and exchange blood. Warlow admits to wanting to marry her but Sookie is unsure of what to do. Now that Governor is dead Sarah vows to get revenge on Jason.
Dramatic ending
In Episode Nine we find Bill and Sookie fighting over Bill’s desire to use Warlow’s blood. And Eric arrives at the Vamp Camp to inflict serious terror on its human owners. Once we reach the final episode, Bill has found that salvation comes at a price as he loses his powers inherited from the blood of the Lilith. Sookie attempts to convince Warlow to date rather than marry, however he turns violent and holds her captive. Bill and the others decide to save her and it culminates in Jason putting a stake through the heart of Warlow. The season winds down with Bill becoming a writer and a new mayor being elected.
