The release of Hyde Park on Hudson is fast approaching, a film about the significant point in history of the King and Queen’s very first visit to America and their stay with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. With all royalness and respect for our Royal Family and Hyde Park on Hudson’s big screen debut, we have compiled a list of the top films based on the Royal Family.

The King’s Speech (2010)

Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I, Cate Blanchett is nothing short from gripping and extraordinary in the film. She exhibits the exact intensity and courage that England desperately needed most from their Queen during this historical time period, overcoming triumphs with Spain, her kingdom, and most privately her life.

The Madness of King George (1994)

When King George III’s mental state slowly deteriorates, slipping away from him; so does the fate of which England hoped for its future.  The film focuses on the medical practices of the time, tuning into understanding the crisis that the royal family battled over for so long behind their private gates.

Hyde Park on Hudson (2013)

Based on the 1939 weekend when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt hosted the King and Queen of England during their visit to the United States of America, for the first in history.
