Signature Entertainment has now released a new UK ttrailer for the anticipated remake of The Toxic Avenger, which you can watch below!
We’ve been waiting a long time for Macon Blair’s remake of Troma’s anti-hero, and now we’re weeks away from its UK debut. Peter Dinklage is our janitor turned mutant hero, The Toxic Avenger, aka Gooze. Struggling to survive, his life is turned upside down thanks to a horrific, toxic accident. His new life comes with its own dangers, forcing our hero to race against time to protect his son.
Lloyd Kaufman and Troma, since the release of the original 1984 film, have released several sequels. The burning question will be the remake be worth all the fuss? Going by the early reviews it will be!
The rest of the cast includes Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Julia Davis, Jonny Coyne, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon.
Official Synopsis:
Meet the world’s first Super-Hero… from New Jersey! Winston Gooze is an ordinary worker, who after a shocking accident, transforms a downtrodden janitor into a mutant vigilante. Armed with his signature mop, the unlikely hero battles freaks, gangsters and corrupt CEOs while trying to save his relationship with his son.
The Toxic Avenger is in UK and Irish cinemas from 29th August.
Before then, the film will make its UK Premiere at Edinburgh Film Festival on 19th August [book tickets]. There is also a London preview at FrightFest on 22nd August [book tickets].
