The Stakes Are High In One Night In Miami Second Trailer

The stakes are high, as Amazon releases a new Second Trailer for Regina King‘s One Night In Miami.  Covid stole our hopes to watch great films on the big screen in 2020. So far 2021 will be in lockdown now, and the next best place to see King’s critically acclaimed directorial feature debut is one Prime video.

What happens b when Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali (Eli Gore ),  Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr ) , and Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge ), find themselves in the same room? It’s called One Night In Miami and this is a fictional account for men who played a part in the American civil rights movement..

It’s getting extremely close to those early awards (cough… Golden Globes), one last push to promote is a must. I may have not seen this yet, but from our reviews and the buzz elsewhere Ill be shocked if this is not in the running for  awards…

On one incredible night in 1964, four icons of sports, music, and activism gathered to celebrate one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. When underdog Cassius Clay, soon to be called Muhammad Ali, (Eli Goree), defeats heavy weight champion Sonny Liston at the Miami Convention Hall, Clay memorialized the event with three of his friends: Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr.) and Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge).

Based on the award-winning play of the same name, and directed by Regina King, One Night In Miami… is a fictional account inspired by the historic night these four formidable figures spent together. It looks at the struggles these men faced and the vital role they each played in the civil rights movement and cultural upheaval of the 1960s. More than 40 years later, their conversations on racial injustice, religion, and personal responsibility still resonate.

The film also stars Lance Reddick, Beau Bridges, Christian Magby, Joaquina Kalukango, and Nicolette Robinson.

One Night In Miami will launch globally on Amazon Prime from 15th January.
