This coming Wednesday (25th November) in USA and 8th January 2010 for UK & Ireland THE ROAD the post apoclyptic movie based on the best selling Cormac McCarthy novel will be released.

It is a movie I have waited along time to watch and like Joe Johnston’s The Wolfman its had its fair share of Problems that have plagued the movie left right and centre. But no more the movie will finally get it’s release date and when the the movie did its rounds on the summer festival network at the start it got a few negative reviews but gradually its got the reviews it truely deserves.

The movie was never going to be a squeeky clean movie, oh no its a dark, emotional story set in barren American wasteland where dog eat dog is the only law, everyone for them selves. This is a hard genre to create when the main focus of the story is the father-son relationship between Viggo Mortensen and Kodi smit-mcphee and I think alot of the early reviewers may have not picked up on this and where quick to rip the movie apart in my opinon.

Here is an extended behind the scenes look featurette (11 minutes) looking at the making of the movie and just like any featurette there is a few spoilers so if you dont mind please watch if you rather wait its up to you.
