The People’s Movies Top Films of 2025 [The Writers]

We’re in the final days of 2025 and soon we’ll start a new year. It’s now time to pick our favourite films, so here are The People’s Movies writers’ Top Films Of 2025.

We call our annual list ‘The Best Films’ but we appreciate everyone’s tastes are different. Now it’s our writers’ turn to share their favourites of 2025 and I wanted our writers to be bold, be different.  But the burning question is did our writers share the same favourites as you, our readers? What we picked as our best (and worst) films are divisive and  respect everyone’s opinions.

In the last couple of years a lot of writers have joined our ranks. Do you agree with their choices?  The simple rule for the writers’ selection was they had to be released in 2025 in the UK and Ireland. And they’re not restricted to cinemas releases: streaming and home release titles can be included, as well as some screened at festivals during the year.
