They where all one considered great TV shows the descended in dreadfulness with big screen adaptations. Today Warner Bros Pictures may have just released the official UK Trailer for what could be the next one, The Nan Movie.

The coming of age comedy based on Catherine Tate‘s loved granny , now got her own big screen adaptation. The film will take her and her grandson on a wild trip to make amends with his sister.

Critically these TV show to film adaptations never go well, some do majority don’t. Sadly the comedic shows seem to be the ones that falter. However for this one fans of Catherine Tate show you will probably be excited to see this one, rest of us we’ll stay away.

Catherine Tate’s iconic character Nan hits the big screen as she goes on a wild road trip from London to Ireland with her grandson Jamie (Mathew Horne) to make amends with her estranged sister Nell (Katherine Parkinson). Militant vegan arsonists, raucous rugby teams, all night raves and crazed cops on motorbikes all make for a proper day out.

An origin story that mixes Nan’s present with her past where we finally find out what’s made her the cantankerous old b*****d she is today.

The film also stars Mathew Horne, Katherine Parkinson, Parker Sawyers, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Jack Doolan and Niky Wardley.

The Nan Movie will unfortunately be out in UK and Irish cinemas 18th March.
