The Midnight Sky Trailer George Clooney Is Alone In The Arctic

Is there anyone there? Netflix have officially released the full Trailer for sci-fi drama The Midnight Sky starring George Clooney. Alone in the arctic in a post apocalyptic Earth trying to save humanity, but is anyone out there?
Mr Clooney as we know is no stranger to the sci-fi genre as well those films deal with isolation and even loneliness. From Solaris to Gravity which this latest film is described is partly inspired by with The Revenant the other half.
In this one Clooney plays Augustine an lonely scientist living on his own in the Arctic. Living in the aftermath of an post apocalyptic event, he must attempt to contact one NASA ship still in space unaware what has happened on Earth.
I really like the idea of not actually knowing what the apocalyptic event was. It gives the situation more tension, terror, bleak, what we can see from the trailer the event might be man made. This certainly one for the ‘intelligent sci-fi’ and a warning to those who deny climate change is real.
George Clooney is directing as well as starring in this film. Here’s hoping his first role in front of the camera in four years is one to remember.
This post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (George Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to a mysterious global catastrophe. Clooney directs the adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s acclaimed novel Good Morning, Midnight, co-starring David Oyelowo, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir and Tiffany Boone.
The cast also includes Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Tiffany Boone with Demián Bichir and Kyle Chandler, and introducing Caoilinn Springall.
The Midnight Sky will be exclusively released on Netflix on 23rd December 2020. The film will also get a limited cinema run in select cinemas.
