They’ll be ‘singing Under The Sea’ as The Little Mermaid dives straight in at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart.
The Disney live-action adaptation of the story, starring Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King and Melissa McCarthy, makes a big splash on digital downloads only, defeating the previous chart champion Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which drops to Number 3 (now that it’s available on Disney+.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie lifts one (2) while DC studios’ The Flash is down two (4). John Wick: Chapter 4 continues is re-ascension up the chart, rebounding two more places into the Top 5 (5).
After its big return to the chart last week, 2014 sci-fi adventure Interstellar enters the Top 10 for the very first time this week, climbing six places to Number 6. It comes after increased interest in director Christopher Nolan’s modern classics following the release of Oppenheimer in cinemas.
Top Gun: Maverick bounces back up three (7), followed closely by fellow former Number 1 Avatar: The Way of Water (8). Star-studded action-adventure Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves slips four places (9).
Finally, horror sequel Evil Dead Rise drops six places to its previous position of Number 10.
