The Dude Versus The Dragon Watch The First Seventh Son UK Trailer

The Dude is the man, but did you ever think he’ll a wizard? In The Seventh Son he is and in the film’s first UK trailer he finally re-unites with Maude (Julianne Moore)but did the dude miss her? 

It’s season of the witch when it comes to Russian director Sergey Bodrov’s English language feature debut Seventh Son a fantasy adventure about Master Gregory (Bridges) and his apprentice Tom (Ben Barnes) fighting against witches. The witches are led by Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore) who escapes Master Gregory bonds to gather her shape changing followers for one big final showdown.

The question is can Jeff Bridges provide some magic pump some life into Seventh Son? When a film that’s heavily delayed with reasons unknown (probably CGI related) the end result disappointing (eg Gangster Squad). The film looks up there Hansel& Gretel Witch Hunters, cheesy, cliched, very heavy on CGI but will probably do enough to earn a sequel. It’s a shame as Seventh Son has a strong cast a mixture experienced and young rising stars we should be more positive.

Seventh Son will be released in UK&Ireland 2014 possibly same date as USA but not confirmed yet (17th January 2014 USA) The film also stars Kit Harington,Alicia Vikander, Djimon Hounsou, Olivia Williams, and Antje Traue.

Synopsis

In a time long past, an evil is about to be unleashed that will reignite the war between the forces of the supernatural and humankind once more.

 Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges) is a knight who had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), centuries ago.  But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance.  Summoning her followers of every incarceration, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world.

 Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory.  In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return.  Now he has only until the next full moon to do what normally takes years: train his new apprentice, Tom Ward (Ben Barnes) to fight a dark magic unlike any other.

 Man’s only hope lies in the seventh son of a seventh son.
