The Batman Sequel In The Works Confirmed By Warner Bros.

This news comes with no surprise. Warner Bros have announced The Batman will get a sequel with Matt Reeves set to return to write and direct that second film.
Last night the studio broke the news during a panel at the industry convention CinemaCon. The Hollywood Reporter announced the news to the world which also said Robert Pattinson will be back to play the Caped Crusader once again.
With the film still playing at cinemas and now on demand it’s been one of the biggest box office hits of 2022. With nearly $760 million worldwide there was no doubt a sequel was on the cards. Things will get better with the home entertainment release just around the corner.

With DC and Warner Bros keen to re-start their DC cinematic universe, the film is giving them hope that universe can still stay alive. The Batman is also Warner Bros first straight to cinema release since they released Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet in 2020. The film so far has been there biggest viewership outdoing the likes of Wonder Woman 1984, The Matrix Resurrections, Dune.
There is still plenty to come from the Batman universe with a spin-off series that will focus on Arkham Asylum as well as Gotham Police Department. Another limited series will be The Penguin with Colin Farrell set to reprise his role with Matt Reeves involved in all of these spin-off projects.
Off course fans of The Caped Crusader will wonder who will play the villain (s) on the second film? Will it take inspiration once again from many of the released graphic novels? Could it be Hush who was teased by Paul Dano‘s Riddler? Will it be Barry Keoghan‘s clown prince of crime Joker and his relationship with the Dark Knight? Will Batman still be vengeance or more focused on the iconic crime fighter? It’s exciting news , but no release date or potential plot has been announced yet.
